He paid former rugby league star Andrew Walker the ultimate compliment in his newspaper article this week, stating that Walker reminded him of - you guessed it - himself! So that's one vote for Walker on the wing.
Walker's inclusion would show that coach Rod Macqueen is concerned at just how he is going to break the wall the Lions will construct in front of the Wallaby attack.
But if the selectors opt for the in-form Walker on one wing and Joe Roff on the other, this will leave the best goalkicker in Australia, Matt Burke, out of the picture.
The other selection issue revolves around the inside-centre position.
Elton Flatley was tried against the Maoris without providing a conclusive answer to the No 12 jersey vacated by Tim Horan, Australia's key playmaker last year prior to his departure to Saracens. Daniel Herbert should have the No 13 jersey locked up and will make his normal bullocking runs.
However, I feel the Wallabies will continue with Flatley at No12, where he will be asked to take pressure off the playmaking duties of fly-half Stephen Larkham and scrum-half George Gregan, who have had to fill the gap left by Horan.
How Flatley handles this challenge will go a long way to deciding the series and he may also be asked to shoulder the goalkicking role.
I feel that Australia will have devised some plays that have never been seen before in a bid to push and pull the Lions' defence to the point that it will open up.
Of course, the Lions will be working hard to ensure that this is not the case.
But the Lions have their own selection issues. The right-wing spot looks to be very open. If we assume that Dan Luger has one spot sewn up, then who are the other contenders?
Jason Robinson's five-try haul against a Queensland President's XV on Tuesday showed that he is potentially a match-winner. He has the respect of the Wallabies and I feel the Australian rugby public secretly want to see the former rugby league star in action too.
The dilemma is where to put him. Luger and Robinson both play on the left flank. Can coach Graham Henry convert one of them into a right-winger in 10 days? I don't think so.
I expect Robinson will be used from the bench in much the same way that England used him in this year's Six Nations championship.
Whatever the Lions decide, interest in Australia has started to take off.
The Lions' results have ensured that everyone understands what an enormous job the Wallabies have in front of them.
