The Evening Standard launched the Dispossessed Fund in 2010 to fight poverty, inequality and exclusion in London after an investigation revealed shocking levels of child poverty.
The aim was to raise £1million to improve the lives of marginalised Londoners which the government would match in order to provide training, education and apprenticeships, fight crime, improve mental health and physical wellbeing and address homelessness and the working poor.
All those taking part in run2work will be helping the donations rise even higher than the £12.2million that has already been raised. Over £6.6million in grants has already gone to 745 groups, including the Waterloo Sports and Football Club.
