Why is Drew Mitchell disguising himself as England captain Chris Robshaw?

With the best of the southern hemisphere soon to head to these shores for the Rugby World Cup the hosts will be looking for every competitive advantage they can get.

And Lucozade will be looking to help England and the rest by making their drink “strictly for the Home Nations only” during the tournament.

According to their latest advert they have good reason to, as stars of the southern hemisphere are desperately attempting to get their hands on the drink.

First among them is Australian full back Drew Mitchell, who donned a Chris Robshaw mask as he attempted to get hold of the drink in the advert. It goes without saying, the scheme didn’t go to plan.

Mitchell said: “I thought the Chris Robshaw mask was actually pretty life-like…maybe a bit better looking than Chris in the flesh though. Wearing it wasn’t actually that bad given that it smelt a lot like cake, so I was happy to have it on and spend the day pretending to be English!

“My favourite scene was with the voice coach teaching me how to pronounce the ‘t’ in Sport in a quintessentially English way. It took me a while, and a lot of repetitions, but I think my English accent is really strong now, and I may even look to get a part in the West End once my playing days are over.”

As for the England captain himself, Robshaw said: “Seeing Drew Mitchell in a mask of my face was very scary to begin with. I thought I was a good actor, but to be fair to Drew, he did a good job of pretending to be me, although he makes for a much shorter version!”
