Relief for Saracens - Owen Farrell declared fit for Heineken Cup semi-final

Owen Farrell will be able to play in next week’s Heineken Cup semi-final despite limping off in the win over Northampton.

On Sunday, Farrell left Allianz Park on crutches amid fears he may have suffered ligament damage.

That could have meant a two-week lay-off ruling him out of the European semi-final against Clermont Auvergne on April 26 but Saracens today allayed those concerns.

“Owen will resume training towards the end of this week,” said the club.“The fly-half sustained a foot injury during the match on Sunday but scans have indicated no serious damage.”
