“I am in good nick and happy with the way I am playing and it’s a case of performing as well as I can because I loved every minute of being involved with England. I am desperate to do that again and it was disappointing the way the World Cup ended, but I felt I did okay and it gave me as taste of international rugby. Now I’m desperate for more.”
George (above), who has made 127 Sarries appearances despite having to battle Springbok hookers John Smit and now Schalk Brits for a starting role, said: “I enjoyed my first involvement with England and saw it as great opportunity to learn. I was training with the best players in England and I used it as a chance to develop.”
After the Newcastle fixture, Saracens face home and away European ties against Oyonnax, followed by a trip to Wasps on December 27 and a home game against Leicester on January 2. That month also includes fixtures against Harlequins, Ulster, Toulouse and Bath.
“It is always a tight game with Newcastle,” said George.
“After that we have yet more tough fixtures. But we are desperate to keep getting better.”
