Harlequins vs Worcester Warriors OFF after Covid-19 outbreak in squad

Harlequins have confirmed that their match with Worcester Warriors on New Year’s Day has been cancelled as they have seven players in self-isolation due to Covid-19.

The club have also taken the step of cancelling training for a week to contain any further spread of the virus.

Following their Boxing Day game with Bristol Bears, Harlequins returned one positive test from this week’s round of Covid-19 testing.

Following on from that, Quins say they conducted “a forensic contact tracing process of the club’s game last weekend and training so far this week”.

That has ruled a further six players out of selection, meaning Harlequins would be unable to field a full front row for their match with Worcester.

In according with Government guidelines, the player who tested positive - plus the six in close contact - will now go into a ten-day isolation period.
