"There is no substitute for pace and they have plenty of it but we have got a bit of gas as well. It will be very competitive in the middle of the pitch to see who can find some space."
The Zurich Championship play-offs had not been arranged when Henderson set himself four goals at the start of the season.
His aims were to secure a regular place with Wasps, to play for Ireland in the autumn Tests, to stay in the national squad for the Six Nations Championship and to be selected for the Lions tour.
With that settled in his mind, Henderson decided he needed a personal trainer and linked up with Warren Loughlin.
Henderson said: "I have been training in different ways and can feel the benefits in fitness and strength and speed. I have done more track work lately as part of a speed-related programme."
Henderson has had two try hat-tricks this season. One of them came for Wasps against Gloucester and the other saw him run in three tries for Ireland in their Six Nations win against Italy in Rome.
He said: "They were memorable matches but the most satisfying of all was beating France at Lansdowne Road."
That 22-15 victory over the French raised Ireland's hopes of a successful Six Nations.
However, their campaign was cut short by the restrictions on sport in their country caused by the foot-and-mouth outbreak, which led to their remaining Championship games being postponed.
Ireland will finish off their Six Nations campaign early next season with matches against Scotland, Wales and England, which form part of a 13-Test season.
After the Lions tour Henderson starts a three-year contract with Munster.
With domestic, Celtic League and European matches he will face at least 22 games for Ireland's most successful province.
Henderson has never lived in Ireland. He was born in Dover and qualifies for Ireland because his mother comes from Wexford.
He took up rugby by chance, filling in at short notice for Kingston's Colts team. Eventually he arrived at London Irish and then Wasps.
"I will be desperately sad to leave Wasps," he said. "There is a great group of players and management, but the supporters really are exceptional. It is a joy to go out and play in front of them."
