SportRobinson's Leeds pledgePaul Robinson: staying at Elland RoadRaoul Simons|Evening Standard14 April 2012Paul Robinson today revealed he refused to join Tottenham because of his determination to save Leeds. The 24-year-old claims he insisted on a clause in his proposed £2million switch to White Hart Lane allowing him to stay put until the end of the season. The unusual deal was set to go through before Monday's transfer deadline until the Premier League intervened claiming it broke rules. The goalkeeper was desperate to help Leeds' survival battle and claims he was prepared to waive bonuses and other monies owed.He said: "I stipulated from the beginning that if that was the case [going to Spurs] then I wanted to come back here until the end of the season. I was also prepared to sacrifice any money that the club owed me. I was coming back here and still taking a wage cut the same as everybody else."Robinson has agreed, with his team-mates, to a 25 per cent wage deferral to ease the club's crisis. He added: "We've all taken a cut and hopefully it will pull us all closer together and we can dig in until the end of the season and get ourselves out of this mess."Read MoreTransfer news LIVE!
