It has been reported today that Frazer walked out following the latest in a string of clashes with Jose Mourinho.
On Saturday morning, the Chelsea manager reportedly told the medic to get Robben fit for the Carling Cup final on 27 February but Frazer said it would be impossible.
As the disagreement boiled over, it is claimed that Mourinho told Frazer to 'Get out' and the doctor handed in his resignation later that day.
A Chelsea spokesman tried to play down the controversy saying: "Dr Neil Frazer has stepped down from his position as club doctor due to ill health after nearly four years with Chelsea. The club thanks him for his service."
Robben suffered a similar injury in his other foot after being hurt by Olivier Dacourt in a pre-season friendly against Roma and he missed the first three months of the season.
Robben added: "I can't say I'm good. It's unbelievable that you can get an injury during pre-season, get fit and four-and-a-half months later get almost the same injury again. I'm very disappointed but I have to stay positive."
