Rising stock of Euro 2004 stars

The business of Euro 2004 may be over but trading is about to start in many of the players who have become household names over the past few weeks.

Standard Sport asked leading agent Phil Smith from First Artists Corporation to run the rule over those he thinks are primed for a move.

1) MANICHE (Portugal)

Kept Rui Costa out of the side and goalscoring midfielders are a priceless commodity. Proved he has the class at the top level and has a tremendous eye for goal with a work-rate to match. Maniche was one of the real stars of the tournament. Estimated value: £10m.

2) TRAIANOS DELLAS (Greece)

Central defender Dellas is an integral part of the Greek defence and impressed throughout the competition. The Roma player began slowly while at Aris and his time there was followed by spells at Panserraikos, Sheffield United and AEK Athens, before moving to Italy in 2001. Has since matured into an accomplished defender. Estimated value: £2m.

3) GIOURKAS SEITARIDIS (Greece)

Produced a number of very disciplined and polished performances in a solid Greek defence. The Greeks defended and attacked as a team but the back four were exemplary. Seitaridis stood out along with Dellas. Estimated value: £2m.

4) ANGELOS CHARISTEAS (Greece)

I had to include the man who deservedly made the headlines. Some players have the knack of scoring important goals and are also big-game players. This is one of them. He scored three goals in his first two games for Greece. Now his value will have doubled. Estimated value: £2.3m.
