Meanwhile, Rovers manager Graeme Souness said today that Spurs have not approached him about the vacant manager's job.
Souness said: "In all honesty, I have heard nothing at all from Tottenham. As far as I am concerned it is all speculation.
"Nobody from that club has contacted me about the job."
Souness also talked about Rovers' disappointing start to the season which sees them one place off the drop zone with 11 points.
The Scot said he was fed up with hearing about how well his team had played with no reward. "I never want to hear anyone say that again this season," he said.
"Our defending has been poor at times. People have not been doing their jobs properly."
Freddie Kanoute is not in Spurs' squad but there is an outside chance he will be on the bench for the Carling Cup clash against Manchester City in midweek.
Caretaker manager Pleat said: "Freddie will not make the trip, but will train over the weekend. There is a chance, depending on how it goes, that he might be on the bench against City."
Long-term injury victims Redknapp and Christian Ziege are joined as absentees by Gus Poyet, who has been sent abroad so specialists can check on his wrist, broken earlier this season.
Pleat said: "He has been playing with a small plaster cast but we thought it wise to send him abroad to see a specialist because we want him to get the all-clear."
