Redknapp wants United's scalp

Jamie Redknapp today insisted that Tottenham can claim a European place - starting with a victory against troubled Manchester United tomorrow.

The Spurs captain, who came off the bench for the first time since September in Sunday's 1-0 win over Newcastle, said: "Europe is within our reach and we have got to keep pushing. Sunday was a big result for us because we are now five points behind Newcastle. However, we have got a tough run ahead because we play United, Chelsea and Arsenal but I think we have proved we can beat the big teams."

Redknapp is delighted to be fit again after recovering-from the latest setback to a long-term knee injury and added: "I feel great and I am very pleased to be back."

Spurs may face a United backlash from a team who were warned yesterday by manager Sir Alex Ferguson that they are playing for their futures following the Champions League exit and humiliating defeat in the Manchester derby.

United are 12 points behind Arsenal and captain Roy Keane, who has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury but could be back to face Spurs, warned: "I'm not looking to upcoming matches against Arsenal. I don't think with the way we've been playing that we can be looking beyond Spurs.

"The players need to put on a performance for the fans. It won't take away the hurt from the defeat against City or to Porto but it's important to get a good win in front of our own fans. We can point to a lot of reasons and have a lot of excuses but the fact is we're not doing the business and we're taking a lot of criticism. Hopefully, we can snap out of it and win tomorrow." Gary Neville is suspended for tomorrow's game while French striker Louis Saha may be rested because of a calf problem.
