Ranieri armed to the teeth

Claudio Ranieri will attempt a Babayaro-style celebration if Chelsea thrash Arsenal tomorrow.

The Chelsea coach was impressed by Sven-Goran Eriksson's cool this week but said: "Sven is always so calm, even when England win. For me it is different. When I coach, I go out to battle with the knife between my teeth.

"If Chelsea win 5-1, I will be flipping over to celebrate like Celestine Babayaro. But, oh my poor back!"

Chelsea have tough month ahead of them. After Arsenal they face Levski Sofia visiting Stamford Bridge on Thursday in the UEFA Cup, followed by three more Premiership derby games against Tottenham, Charlton and Fulham. There is also the away clash in Sofia.

Ranieri said: "After this month everybody will know better how good we are. It's my squad now, and I'm very happy with my players, but at the moment they don't play exactly like I want.

"This is normal because I have some players here who only arrived at the end of the summer.

"It takes time to get to know everybody, to know their characteristics. Only by playing can you do it."

Ed De Goey continues in goal tomorrow at the expense of Mark Bosnich and Carlo Cudicini. The only problem for Ranieri is making sure his Dutch contingent do not suffer a hangover from their World Cup exit at the weekend.
