Raining on my parade

Most players head for the indoor courts which are just across the road but the huge demand means you get very little time and I only practised for half an hour.

I relaxed with fellow Brits Mark Hilton and Lee Childs but we were so bored we ended up watching repeats of old Wimbledon matches on BBC.

The delay was infuriating because I had just broken Beck. I was getting on top and his head dropping. Having now played in my first Wimbledon, I don't think I will be as nervous today. I was not really in the match during the first set but played better in the second and won it on the tie-break.

If I can start with a good service game, hopefully I can pick up where I left off.

I caught some of Tim Henman's match against Ruben Ramirez. He didn't start well but played some good stuff to win eventually.

It's incredible the way Tim handles the pressure. He gets a lot of undeserved stick. People don't understand how difficult it is to remain in the top 20 for so many years. I'm really not sure if I was in Tim's position I could handle all the crap he gets.
