Quarters see exciting match-ups

Oakham and King's Worcester, both unbeaten, collide this month and will meet the winners of the Leeds Grammar rematch with Hymers. The Hull side are quietly confident after winning 48-0 earlier in the season but wary becauseLeeds were without key players.

Another real threat from the north areManchester Grammar, coached for the first time this season by Manchester No 8 and captain Dave Muckalt. They travel to Merchant Taylor's, Crosby where former England wing Mike Slemen has produced another exciting set of backs.Significantly, they didn't see the ball when Manchester won the regular fixture before Chrsitmas.

The Under 15 Cup has thrown up its usual quality, surprises and a controversy which has turned the cream sour in Devon. RGS High Wycombe are the only team through to the quarter-finals, their sharp backs destroying St Peter's invincibilty. Whitgift, St Paul's, St Peter's, York and Solihull, who have not conceded a point, are also class acts while Nottingham High School and Prince Henry's, Evesham are a danger to anyone.

Outwood Grange are the surprise packet. Primarily a rugby league school, they put out illustrious Wakefield rivals QEGS and aim to do the same to Durham. Millfield await the winners of an unprecedented replay between Torquay Boys and Plymouth College. Torquay inflicted the first defeat forfour years on Plymouth but have been ordered to replay on a technicality, since they appointed the referee, albeit a neutral one, themselves.
