Predator Fowler is in highest company

Kevin Keegan hailed Robbie Fowler today as his comeback king after the former England striker took his Premier League goal tally past 150 in the 3-2 win at Norwich.

Manchester City found themselves trailing to strikes from Dean Ashton and Leon McKenzie as their relegation-threatened opponents surged into a two-goal lead after only a quarter of an hour.

Antoine Sibierski headed home from close range to reduce the deficit before a Fowler double snatched all three points for Keegan's side, the winning goal coming deep into injury time.

"Robbie is always going to score goals," said Keegan, who rescued the former Liverpool star from a disappointing spell at Leeds two seasons ago.

"People still want to write him off but if he has kept those articles he could throw them back in their faces.

"He is still a quality player and he knows where the net is. We just have to supply him with ammunition, and in the end we did. Robbie has worked hard to get back to where he is now, but he can get better if we can supply him better." Fowler is now the third highest scorer of all time in the Premiership, having passed Les Ferdinand (150) to trail only Andy Cole with 173 and Alan Shearer on 250.
