Postiga added: "It is not defined who is going to play. I don't consider myself to be third option. I am going to work hard to seize the place. I am here to show my value and that I deserve an opportunity."
Meanwhile, Spurs' bid to lure Dutch star Edgar Davids may be scuppered by a renewed offer from Spanish giants Barcelona.
Davids, available on a free transfer, initially rejected Barcelona's offer of a twoyear contract, but it is now believed the club have returned to the negotiating table and increased their bid by a further year.
Spurs had offered the midfielder a two-year deal worth around £60,000-a-week.
