Pollenator's Guineas plan

Oaks favourite Pollenator is likely to have a prep run over a mile to kick off her Classic campaign.

Owned by the Royal Ascot Racing Club, the Richard Hannon-trained daughter of Derby winner Motivator signed off with an impressive victory in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster.

She went into the winter as 16-1 favourite with Blue Square for the Oaks, but according to RARC spokesman Harry Herbert, she has plenty of speed in her pedigree and the 1,000 Guineas remains firmly on the agenda.

Herbert said: "Pollenator has just gone back into training and we've been delighted with her progress over the winter. We were wondering if she'd train on but she has grown and done really well. We'll look to see if she has the speed for the Guineas."

Pollenator stayed on well to beat subsequent Group 1 Ascot Fillies' Mile heroine Hibaayeb in the May Hill Stakes and is as low as 16-1 with Bet365 for the fillies' mile Classic at Newmarket on 2 May.

Herbert added: "She is out of a Bluebird mare, so there is plenty of speed on her dam's side but as soon as she was stepped up to a mile last season, she improved for it.
