"There's no reason why we can't finish sixth or seventh in the league and qualify for Europe. Newcastle and Liverpool may grab fourth and fifth by the end of the season but sixth and seventh is very open."
Tottenham have been boosted by the return of three of their longterm injury victims.
Christian Ziege, Simon Davies and Bobby Zamora all played in a private game against Queens Park Rangers at the club's Chigwell training ground yesterday.
Ziege's appearance was his first in a competitive match since limping out of his comeback game against West Ham at the end of October with a knee ligament strain.
The wing-back played for an hour against Rangers while Davies, out since the start of the season with a hip injury, played the full 90 minutes. Zamora was given a one-hour run-out after missing three weeks with an Achilles injury.
Caretaker boss David Pleat said: "We have got lots to think about over Christmas because we have got one or two suspensions." Spurs will be without Paul Konchesky for the clash with Charlton next Sunday and Crystal Palace in the FA Cup Third Round the following week. Konchesky is on loan from The Valley and manager Curbishley has allowed him to stay at Spurs for a further month.
Curbishley insisted that Konchesky was not cup-tied and did not play against Charlton next Sunday.
Spurs defender Dean Richards has revealed how he is being forced to undergo treatment on his troublesome achilles every day in order to remain match fit.
Richards said: "It is something I have got used to now and thankfully it is not stopping me playing at the moment."
