Pennant: I will not go easy on Cole

Jermaine Pennant has warned Ashley Cole their friendship will count for nothing at Elland Road tomorrow.

The on-loan winger will line up for Leeds against Cole after being given permission to play for Peter Reid's side by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Pennant joined Leeds from Highbury in August on a twomonth loan - a deal which was recently extended by a month, now taking in a game the 20-year-old concedes "is going to be a bit weird".

Although cup-tied by Wenger for Leeds' Carling Cup third-round exit at the hands of bitter rivals Manchester United on Tuesday, Pennant will start tomorrow and he told Arsenal.com: "Playing against Ashley will be a bit like being in a training session.

"We know each other very, very well - but you have got no friends on the field. I am sure after the final whistle we will be mates again. I am just hoping to play well.

"My loan spell is going great. Playing week in week out can only make you a better player. We have been playing well but feel a few decisions have gone against us. Sooner or later we will get the results we deserve."

Leeds are one place off the bottom of the Premiership having lost their past two matches. David Batty will return to the side after being rested in midweek against United, while Mark Viduka should be fit after missing the game with a back injury.

Salomon Olembe should also play for Leeds, despite being substituted after sustaining a dead leg on Tuesday. But captain Dominic Matteo is struggling with a thigh injury.
