Parry takes rocky road

Stephen Parry will fire himself up with motivational videos as he prepares for tonight's 200 metres butterfly final.

The 27-year-old Liverpudlian swam a British record one minute 55.57 seconds to qualify last night ahead of American superstar Michael Phelps as the fastest man in the field.

Parry, who squeezed into the semi-finals as the 16th qualifier prepared for the semis by watching Rocky III.

Meanwhile, Britain's Richard Faulds started his bid for a second successive Olympic gold medal in the double trap shooting today battling against the rest of the world's best shots and the gusting wind that has caused havoc in the competition in Athens.

Faulds must emerge as one of the top shots from the opening three rounds where a maximum of 150 is possible.

Given the conditions, Faulds will just be delighted to make the final and provide the British shooting team with a much needed boost after early setbacks.
