"We need something to give everyone, including the supporters, a lift and one or two, three or possibly four new faces around the training ground and out on the pitch always does that."
Charlton took the lead yesterday afternoon when Hameur Bouazza fired them ahead 11 minutes before half-time, but they remain rooted to the bottom of the table after two goals from United midfielder Stephen Quinn either side of a Danny Webber effort lifted the hosts back into the play-off positions.
Kevin Blackwell, Parkinson's counterpart at Bramall Lane, expressed sympathy with his opposite number and insisted that Charlton's players must take responsibility for their current plight.
Blackwell said: "Their biggest hurdle will be a psychological one. It's all about the mindset because, when you're down there, you start expecting things to go wrong."
