Palace must buy

Michael Hughes believes Crystal Palace must spend to survive in the Premiership.

The south London club moved out of the bottom three with a 1-1 draw at Spurs yesterday, but their captain reckons at least two quality signings are needed to keep them there.

Hughes said: "It would be a boost to have a couple of new faces. It's the Premier League and it's not easy.

"The lads have done very well so far, but I'm sure if the manager brings in two or three quality players then we will welcome them."
