Max Jones, UK Athletics' performance director, said: "Now she's in the team we'll have to consider it."
Kelly Holmes was Britain's only winner in the match against the USA and select teams from the Commonwealth and Europe, but her performance was stunning as she beat Jolanda Ceplak in the 800m.
Holmes has been determined to put the 1500m as her priority in Athens and may now decide after Friday's Norwich Union London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace to switch her intentions.
She won in 2:00.46secs from Ceplak, second in 2:01.75, followed by Britain's Hayley Tullett in 2:02.32.
Holmes said: "I have not made a decision yet about Athens. I might know more after Friday."
Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva regained the world record with a clearance of 4.89metres.
Isinbayeva, who last month raised her own mark to 4.87m in Gateshead, saw it broken a week later by fellow Russian Svetlana Feofanova.
Isinbayeva set the new record with her first attempt.
The Commonwealth Select team won the match with 153 points from the USA, 151, Britain, 121, and Europe, 99.
