Noseda's Dewhurst warning

Jeremy Noseda will cast more than a passing glance at Saturday's Dubai Dewhurst Stakes, as three of the most exciting juvenile colts to emerge for years are set to take each other on at Newmarket.

The Group One feature is shaping up to be one of the best races of the season, with Henry Cecil's Frankel set to clash with Godolphin's Saamidd, as well as Middle Park winner Dream Ahead.

The race is sure to have a big bearing on next season's 2000 Guineas but Newmarket trainer Noseda feels Peter Martins will still emerge as a leading contender for the colts' mile Classic.

The once-raced son of Johannesburg was expected to be a major force in the top juvenile races this season after he ran out the emphatic winner of a seven-furlong maiden at Newmarket in July.

He is currently 20-1 with Sky Bet for next year's Guineas.

Though Peter Martins suffered an injury after his five-length demolition of Colorado Gold, Noseda thinks he should not be overlooked.

"People may be forgetting him. Perhaps they shouldn't," he said. "He suffered a setback and we have put him away for the winter but he arguably achieved as much, if not more, than those other good colts in the Dewhurst achieved on their debuts.
