Noseda ready for pressing engagement

"He might not get in the Lincoln and then there is the worry about the going, change of surface and the draw.

"But he is up for both events and it would be a cracking performance if he could scoop the pair.

"My favourite place at Lingfield is the press box, and I always make a point of being in there with you guys when one of mine runs at the track. It has been lucky for me in the past and I believe it will be again."

He was there for the Derby Trial last month when Adiemus hammered his colours to the mast. It was obvious that Noseda was not worried when the grey, Laissezaller, led two furlongs out and went clear at the furlong pole.

Indeed, he was out of the door and making for the winner's enclosure before rider Shane Kelly shook up Adiemus to cruise past Amanda Perrett's charge and score by three parts of a length, easing up. It was an impressive performance, and although the runner-up is set to re-oppose on better terms, Adiemus will be tuned to perfection for the first part of his twin assault.

The rise and rise of the Polytrack course at once leafy Lingfield has been a revelation, attracting better class horses.

Apart from Laissezaller, Adiemus will also have plenty to fear from Freefourinternet. Trained by Brian Meehan, he is due to be ridden by the Upper Lambourn handler's new stable jockey, for mer champion Pat Eddery.

Lincolnshire trainer James Given may also attempt the Winter Derby-Lincoln double with I Cried For You.

The seven-year-old gelding won last year's Cambridgeshire and finished a pleasing third to Adiemus in the Lingfield race.

Given said: "He definitely runs tomorrow, with Michael Fenton up, and we will be watching how he goes as to whether he also contests the Lincoln."
