But Labour's Lammy, who is defending a majority of just under 17,000, insists he has fought hard for the club.
He said: "Spurs are a vital part of the future of Tottenham. I have worked closely with [chairman] Daniel Levy and the board at the club to secure their future in Tottenham."
Conservative candidate William MacDougall said: "It would be a tragedy if the club left."
Meanwhile, Spurs have confirmed the appointment of England Under-21 assistant coach John McDermott in place of Peter Suddaby as academy manager.
