"He made an impressive winning debut in his maiden at the Newmarket July meeting but the form is questionable and this is a step up the ladder. He is such a great mover that the fast ground at Sandown will suit him so much better than conditions he would have encountered at Newbury. The stiff uphill finish will also be a plus as he is a colt who will soon be wanting a mile."
Richard Hannon has a very strong hand of two-year-olds so his unbeaten colt Measuring Time warrants respect but Brian Meehan's Titus Mills, who looked as big as a heavyweight boxer when winning first time up at Ascot, could be more of a threat.
Luca Cumani's Seta can get punters off to a good start at Sandown tomorrow by winning the Listed Atalanta Stakes (2.05). The filly was considered to be Classic material but flopped in the 1,000 Guineas so the trainer has built up her confidence.
There is no doubting Seta's class and she can outsmart Long Lashes and Decorative here. Invincible Lad may not have won on turf for 15 months but the six-year-old can still land the sprint handicap (3.45).
Jockey Richard Hughes is convinced that there is a decent race in him, and, despite an unfavourable draw, the first-time blinkers might act as a wake-up call.
Meanwhile, Red Cadeaux (2.50) and Side Glance (3.25) look the best bets at Chester tomorrow. The former was unlucky in the Chester Cup while the latter did not quite get the mile at Ascot last time.
