Murray races on as he serves up a treat

The second set was tighter and the world No4 had to save break points at 0-1 and 2-3. At 4-4, a double-fault from Lopez handed the fourth seed the break and he then served out for a two-sets-to-love lead.

The Scot cruised through the third to set up tomorrow's encounter and said: "When you get an early break, it sets the tone for the rest of the match and tonight that was the case.

"I was moving well early on and had good intensity early in the match. That's something that I'll keep up through the rest of the tournament."

Murray lost to Young, 22, earlier this year at Indian Wells and said he would make amends. "I was in a pretty bad place around Indian Wells, Miami time and it was a tough, tough part of the year for me," Murray admitted. "It's not so much revenge against Donald, it's more for the situation I was in there and making sure that I can move on from that."

Murray is two wins away from a potential semi-final against Rafael Nadal, the man who beat him at the same stage at both the French Open and Wimbledon this year.

Defending champion Nadal slumped to the floor when suffering severe cramp during his press conference after beating David Nalbandian to reach round four, an incident watched on television by many players, including Murray.

The Spaniard says he will be 100 percent fit for tomorrow's match against Gilles Muller, of Luxembourg, and Murray said: "I'm sure a lot of people were surprised because it was him that was cramping but Rafa's human. I think people forget that."

World No1 Novak Djokovic and No3 Roger Federer are both in fourth-round action today. Wimbledon champion Djokovic plays Ukraine's Alexander Dolgopolov while Federer takes on Juan Monaco, of Argentina.

Australian Sam Stosur recovered from losing the longest tie-break in Grand Slam history to beat Maria Kirilenko and reach the quarter-finals.
Stosur won 6-2, 6-7 (15-17), 6-3 after seeing five match points slip by.

"Obviously I knew it was pretty long," Stosur said of the tie-break, which stretched the second set to one hour and 24 minutes.
