Moonstone's shining bright

Godolphin's 1000 Guineas ante-post favourite White Moonstone has been delighting connections as she steps up her preparations for the Newmarket Classic.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained filly, who rounded off an unbeaten four-race juvenile campaign with victory in the Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile at Ascot, is 5-1 with Victor Chandler for the May 1 one-mile race.

"She is straightforward and uncomplicated and physically she has done really well," said Simon Crisford, Godolphin's racing manager.

"We're very happy with her and it looks like she's showing all the right signs that you would want at this time of year. With six weeks to go she is exactly where we'd want her to be.

"We are going to try to channel everything into the Guineas and after that we'll take it from there but obviously on her two-year-old form she is one of the best fillies around and we hope that she can build on that this year."

While Godolphin are going full steam ahead with White Moonstone, Crisford issued a note of caution regarding their 2000 Guineas hopefuls Casamento and Dubai Prince.
