Miracle cure for Campbell

Sol Campbell is in line to make a sensational return for Arsenal in their Premiership match at Bolton on Monday.

The England defender's return will come just two weeks after he tore his hamstring against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup semi-final on 14 April.

It was feared that the 27-year-old would miss the FA Cup Final against Chelsea on 4 May and the rest of the Premiership season.

But Campbell has made a startling recovery thanks to a special £65,000 machine called the Alba which uses computer technology and heats the torn hamstring muscle, increasing blood flow to the exact area of the tear.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "Sol has been on the Alba machine and he is cured and is fit for Monday. With the machine we have been using, you can reach depth within the muscle that you couldn't before." The machine, which can increase blood flow by up to 15 times, was invented by former Italian sprint champion Francesco Pavoni.

Arsenal are four points clear at the top of the table going into the last three games and Wenger is unlikely to be perturbed by Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson's latest desperate attempt to play mind games.
