Mido keen to stay at Spurs

Mido claimed today that rumours of his Tottenham demise have been greatly exaggerated.

The Egypt striker was reported to be on his way out of White Hart Lane after struggling with fitness problems. But, following a hat-trick in a warm-up game on Monday night ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier against Ivory Coast, Mido insisted he will be a Spurs player next season.

The 22-year-old, who has one year left of his loan deal from Roma, said: "I am sure I am going to stay with Spurs. The coach told me he does not want to let me to play elsewhere."

Meanwhile, Anthony Gardner has been linked with a move to Wolves. The 24-year-old Spurs defender has three years left on his contract.
