Marcus Tregoning has high hopes for Sir Alex Ferguson fledgling

Marcus Tregoning is hoping unraced Aetos can give Sir Alex Ferguson another reason to celebrate this season.

Having wrapped up a third consecutive Premier League title, the Manchester United manager is eagerly awaiting to see the colt make his debut.

And the Derby-winning trainer issued an upbeat report over the 72,000 guineas Royal Applause colt. Tregoning said: "It's Sir Alex's first horse with us and he's potentially a very nice colt.

"He's quite a big horse and we are deciding whether he should run over six or seven furlongs. He could have his first run in a month or so.

"He looks the type to improve, like most of my two-year-olds. We don't have many early types."
