Luis is crowd pleaser

Fulham captain Lee Clark today paid tribute to Luis Boa Morte after the Portuguese winger marked another impressive individual performance with his third goal in as many matches.

Boa Morte's strike salvaged a point in the 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City. His ninth goal of the season kept Fulham seven points clear of the relegation zone ahead of tomorrow night's trip to Middlesbrough.

Clark said: "Boa has always been an important player to this football club. He's an infectious character, he gets the crowd and the lads going.

"We all love him here and we hope that he carries on with this rich vein of goalscoring form he's in. We'll settle for a few more from him in the coming weeks."

The visitors that took the lead when Claudio Reyna, once a target for Chris Coleman, prodded home from close range after 20 minutes. Boa Morte came close to equalising on the stroke of half-time when he struck the post, though chances were few and far between largely due to Fulham's profligacy when in possession.

Fulham, though, rallied after the interval and were rewarded late on when Boa Morte placed a right-footed shot beyond David James after the Manchester City goalkeeper failed to gather Clark's deep cross.
