Ling still targeting play-offs

Martin Ling believes Leyton Orient need to win nine of their remaining 14 matches to secure a play-off spot in League Two.

The Orient manager, who takes his side to second-placed Scunthorpe tomorrow in buoyant mood following last Saturday's victory over Swansea, has calculated that another 27 points will be enough to finish in the top seven.

"I feel we need nine more wins between now and the end of the season. Because of that, we will go to Scunthorpe with a positive attitude and aim to get three points," said Ling. "It's a difficult game but we are going into it with a little bit more confidence after last week. They have failed to win their last two and we have to hope it's the start of a blip."

Ling also revealed he is scouring the market in search of another forward.

"I just feel that coming up to deadline time we can't take the risk of going with only three strikers," he said.

Mark Peters (toe), Wayne Carlisle (ankle) and Jabo Ibehre (knee) are all injured.
