Leicester equal their best

Leicester Grammar have never been beyond the fifth round and one of onlyfive schools to put their name on the Cup, Mount St Mary's, are a majorobstacle to the last 16.

Mounts, from the Derbyshire-Yorkshire border nearSheffield, have had a lean time in the last couple of seasons but havelooked impressive in winning at Lady Manners (26-20) and Adams Grammar(20-11).

They will have home advantage now against Leicester, who were morecomfortable winners than the 22-18 scoreline suggests after King Edward's,Camp Hill scored a late try.

'I thought we were better organised on the dayand should have made more of our chances,' said coach Troy Thacker.

'We'rehaving a reasonable season with only one defeat against Oakham when thewheels fell off. It's a team with no stars but they have been together awhile. It would have good to have our one England player to call upon butback row forward Luke Abraham has been out all season with a knee injury.'

If they come through against Mount, they earn a home tieagainst King Edward's, Stratford or Bedford Modern. Stratford, inauguralwinners ten years ago, are always a danger and Bedford Modern, likeStratford, are always well coached.
