They have been told to visit the surgeries of their MPs today to impress upon them the seriousness of the rights row.
The political strategy could turn out to be a more effective tactic as the two companies want to merge and are hoping the Government's new communications bill, due to be published at the end of April, will make that easier for them. Opposition from so many MPs would seriously hinder their merger plans.
The strategy is the work of top lobbyist Kevin Bell, managing director of GPC International, who was hired by the League earlier this week.
