Knights miss out on Shockey

London Knights head coach Bob Leslie has failed in an attempt to complete his roster by signing a new defenceman.

Leslie has been trailing Jon Shockey, 25, who guested for London in their pre-season tournament in Geneva, but the Knights boss revealed: ?We were after Jon Shockey for a while. He was with the Los Angeles Kings, but he?s taken up an offer to play in the American league.?

Leslie must now look elsewhere and is also considering bringing in a temporary replacement for injured captain David Struch.

Manchester Storm visit London Arena on Sunday and Leslie said: ?We lost a tough game in Sheffield and we don?t want to lose two games in a row.?
