Kamara delighted to be in Fulham's focus again

Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara is in line to make his comeback from a serious knee injury against former club West Brom on Sunday.

Kamara (right), whose brace of goals at Manchester City at the tail-end of last season proved vital to Fulham's successful fight against relegation from the Premier League, has been out since June after he suffered ruptured ligaments playing for Senegal against Liberia.

But the 28-year-old Frenchman's recovery from reconstructive surgery has delighted manager Roy Hodgson, who called the pace of the striker's rehabilitation a "revelation".

Now, with Andy Johnson struggling with a muscle strain that kept him out of Wednesday's defeat at Manchester United, Kamara is in contention for his first appearance of the season at Craven Cottage this weekend.

He said: "I'm feeling in excellent shape. My dream is to be in the squad for the game against West Brom."

The £6million striker's return could not be better timed. Fulham are relatively safe in 10th place in the table but injury and fatigue are beginning to tell on Hodgson's small squad.

Dickson Etuhu, a solid replacement for Jimmy Bullard following the midfielder's move to Hull, is unlikely to feature against bottom-of-the-table Albion as he continues to recover from an ankle complaint. A lack of match fitness is hampering loan signings Olivier Dacourt and Giles Barnes, the England Under-19 star who arrived from Derby County with a view to a permanent move.

Hodgson watched Barnes perform in a behind-closed-doors game against West Ham on Tuesday, but said: "I don't think you're going to see Giles Barnes playing any major part in our play until such time as he is fit enough.
