Mutu's advisors claim his comments have been taken out of context-but it is not the first time he has clashed with Mourinho. The former Parma and Inter Milan striker demanded a transfer in the summer when it became clear he was Chelsea's fourth-choice striker and would have joined Juventus if they had come up with a transfer fee.
Mutu feels he has not been given a fair chance by Mourinho and was angry at not being in the squad that beat Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday.
He said: "I told Mourinho I was fit. He disagreed and showed me a piece of paper from the medical staff claiming I wasn't. But I know I am fit.
"Mourinho has promised me that I would play in the first team for some games. Then I wasn't even in the squad and I don't understand why. Probably the only solution, even if I don't want it, is to find another team."
The row comes at a bad time for Chelsea who have injuries to Didier Drogba and Mateja Kezman, leaving Eidur Gudjohnsen as their only fit striker.
Drogba will be ruled out for several weeks with a groin injury, picked up in the first-half of Chelsea's clash with Liverpool.
And although Mourinho is confident Kezman could recover from his groin strain in time for the club's next game against Manchester City on 16 October, he was sent home from international duty by Serbia earlier this week.
