Players from both sides wore black armbands as a mark of respect for former Spurs goalkeeper Bill Brown, who died on Monday, aged 73.
The Scot, who made 272 appearances for the club and was part of the 1961 Double-winning team, moved to Canada in 1966 where he later worked as a civil servant. He had been suffering a long-term illness.
Brown made 28 appearances for his country, including the 1958 World Cup finals.
