Johnson in new deal

Crystal Palace have tied Andy Johnson to a new five-year contract.

The 23-year-old striker was the top scorer in Division One last season and got off the mark in the Premiership in their 1-1 draw at Norwich last weekend.

Manager Iain Dowie said: "With the length of this contract you can understand his commitment to the club."

Palace have also completed the signing of Ecuador playmaker Ivan Kaviedes from Barcelona de Guayaquil.
