Improving Millfield

Millfield had high hopes of their Under 15s last season but were one of themany surprise victims of eventual Twickenham heroes Epsom.

This timearound, they have surprised people themselves. They moved through to thefourth round with a comfortable 40-9 win at Clevedon Community School withtwo tries for flanker Peter Bennett and one each from centre 'RJ' Peach,wing Daniel Barnhouse, and replacement centre Julian Bishop.Andrew Mulkern weighed in with five conversions.

'They've improved a lot,' said Millfield's Trevor Greenhill. 'As Under 14s they lost twice to Colston's and RGS High Wycombe and have beaten both of them this season.' Colston'swere well beaten at home 25-5 by St Peter's, Gloucester.

The home side tookan early lead through Henry Mace before St Peter's inspirational fly halfMark Moran steadied his troops with an equalising try.

The visitors small but mobile pack worked hard for possession used to good effect in thesecond half by the backs. Versatile centre Jack Adams ran in two more trieswith the other coming from lock Joe Billau.
