Huth jinx strikes as he's hit by fresh blow

Robert Huth learned today he will be out for up to eight weeks after damaging knee ligaments during his first start of the season for Chelsea.

On his return to action after an ankle problem, the defender scored in Sunday's 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham only to get injured later on.

"He was unlucky because someone fell on him but at least he doesn't need surgery," said club physio Mike Banks.

Huth, Ricardo Carvalho and Scott Parker will all miss tonight's game at Blackburn where Chelsea will look to extend their eight-point lead at the top of the table.

Although Chelsea are in pole position, Petr Cech warned his team-mates today to guard against complacency.

Arsene Wenger may have conceded that Arsenal's championship defence is over following their defeat by Manchester United but Cech believes Chelsea's title rivals are trying to lull them into a false sense of security.
