Hunt hoping fans get some cheer

David Hunt says he has every sympathy for the fans who were unhappy with Leyton Orient's opening day home 3-1 defeat by Macclesfield.

Orient travel to Cambridge tonight hoping to kick-start their season in League Two and midfielder Hunt believes they have the players to turn their fortunes around.

He said: "I can see where the crowd were coming from but it was only the first game of the season. Luckily, we've got a game straight away at Cambridge, so we haven't had too long to wait to get it out of our systems. It would be worse if we'd had a whole week to stew on it.

"There should be a few fans up there getting behind us. We really need to make sure we get a result and I think if we can get a goal early on that will help.

"The lads have to get their heads up. I know it was really important to get off to a good start, and we haven't done that, but we've got the characters in the team to take us forward."

Striker Lee Steele is also convinced Orient will get on the right path and said: "When I was at Brighton and we won the division in 2000-01, we lost four of our first seven games. It may take time for us to get where we want but I'm sure we'll get there."

Manager Martin Ling has no injury worries but could make changes.
