Three seeds from the north - Durham, RGS Newcastle and QEGS Wakefield -bit the dust in the third round.

Durham, last year's beaten finalists, wereconquered for the second time this season by Barnard Castle with15-year-old centre Matt Tait making a name for himself with a hat-trick oftries in the 22-8 win.

BC, who produced Rob Andrew and the Underwoodbrothers, now visit King's, Tynemouth on November 21.

They edged a Battleof the Geordies by beating RGS Newcastle, one of last season's beatensemi-finalists 9-6.

But the biggest shock was at Otley where Prince Henry'sput out QEGS, Wakefield 12-10.

QEGS, who reached the 1995, 1996 and 2000finals, are not such a force this season but this was a famous scalp forPrince Henry's, especially as QEGS scored a try from the kick off.

The homeside struggled to gain any decent possession and the visitors held ontotheir lead until half time. The spark for Prince Henry's came from wingerLeon Clarke who broke from his 22 on a thrilling run before passing insideto his support players for Nick Smith to score under the posts and thenconvert.

QEGS had no time to regroup before suffering another stunning blowwhen Prince Henry's fly half Liam Duffy ran in from the half way line.
