Hopkins camp to ignore Eastman rematch plea

Howard Eastman's demand for a rematch with undisputed world middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins was today dismissed by the titleholder's promoter.

Londoner Eastman claimed he deserved a second go at Hopkins after losing a unanimous decision to the 40-year-old American in Los Angeles.

It would appear, however, that 34-year-old Eastman will remain frustrated as Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions revealed: "There are now three big fights out there for Bernard - against Tito Trinidad, Jermain Taylor and Glencoffe Johnson.

Meanwhile, Amir Khan qualified for the Senior ABA quarter finals in Norfolk this weekend after he won the North West Counties title with a thirdround stoppage of Steve Williams.
