Henry: Our squad's not big enough

Thierry Henry today identified Arsenal's lack of strength in depth as the main reason for their surrender of the Premiership crown.

The French striker refused to blame their loss of form on a hangover from losing their 49-match unbeaten run in the league and instead focused on the number of injuries Arsenal suffered this season.

The latest came last night with the loss of Sol Campbell with an ankle injury. The defender will miss Saturday's league clash with Aston Villa and next week's England friendly with Holland.

Henry said: "The turning point [in the season] was when we lost the likes of Edu and Gilberto Silva and other players through injury," said Henry.

"Without talking bad about anyone, look at our bench last night. Look at the bench of Manchester United, look at the bench of Chelsea. I have always said, you need your bench.

"We have great youngsters but there is only so much you can ask from them. Sometimes it is difficult to play well in all competitions. Injuries have played their part but also the bench is not the same as other teams have.
