Henry gears up for test of nerve

Thierry Henry said today that he relishes the thrills and spills of the Champions League knock-out stage.

Arsenal must overturn a 3-1 deficit against Bayern Munich or go out but Henry said: "I prefer this type of game than the group stage. It is more enjoyable to play in. Mind you, I will tell you how much I enjoyed it at the end of the game tomorrow night!" Arsenal know there can be no repeat performance of the pathetic offering in Munich.

Henry added: "Thank God for that late goal from Kolo Toure. When you are having a bad night in the Champions League, you pay straight away. In the league, sometimes the teams respect you a bit more. But in Europe - a bad night and you are out. I hope they have a bad one and we have a good one. Maybe you saw the wrong Arsenal over there. Hopefully we can now see the good one."

Henry believes that even if they overcome Bayern, the achievement will mean nothing if Arsenal do not go all the way in the competition. He said: "It is about winning. Obviously I will be happy if we can turn things around and beat Bayern. But if we then lose in the quarter-finals, what we did against Bayern won't mean anything to me."

Arsene Wenger - without Sol Campbell, Gilberto Silva and Pascal Cygan - is likely to make a late decision about the involvement of midfield man Edu but has Robert Pires fit after an ankle problem.
