Henry: 'Boring' Chelsea fired up

Chelsea's charge for the Premiership is fired up by critics labelling them "boring", according to Thierry Henry.

Arsenal's French star, who finished as runner-up to Ronaldinho in last night's World Player of the Year gala, admits it will now take a mistake from Jose Mourinho's side to put the Gunners back in contention for the title.

But he added that Arsenal will be ready to pounce if the Stamford Bridge club slip up.

He said: "They [Chelsea] have an anger and a desire as well, many of them are so young and they want to prove the people who were giving them stick that they were wrong. They have that driving force inside them.

"All we can do is see if they will drop some points. We have come from behind before - and we have also lost it when we were ahead - so you can never tell.

"I'm sure a month ago people were saying 'how do you stop Arsenal' and suddenly it's how do you stop Chelsea?

"That's the way it is, you have to let them fly - they're flying at the moment and all we can do is hope for them to come back to earth. Give them some credit because at the beginning of the season they got a lot of stick for not playing well.

"But they were winning points then and now they are destroying teams. Players such as Claude Makelele know what it takes to win titles."
